Le Mont Royal Chantilly
The curtains, bed canopies and toiles de Jouy of the Château Mont Royal, removed during its renovation, turned into hand-sewn accessories.
Washbag · toile de Jouy from the Château Mont Royal
A second life for a château’s fabrics
On the edge of the Chantilly forest, the Château Mont Royal undertook a renovation. Striped curtains, bed canopies, quilted boutis and toiles de Jouy were taken down. Rather than see them disappear, we gathered them up.
From removal to workshop
The fabrics were sorted by a sheltered workshop in the Oise, then studied in Chantilly, where each design was drawn and tested. Sewing was entrusted to social-enterprise workshops in Hauts-de-France.
An edition that will not return
Each piece depends on the yardage saved: once the fabric runs out, the collection ends. Patterns, cuts and shades vary from one object to the next.
